TDP warms up to Congress
It was a big development when Chandrababu Naidu went to Delhi to cosy up to Rahul Gandhi. TDP's core agenda since its formation has been to present an alternative to the Grand Old Party and the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty. So, the AP CM's move came as an opportunistic move.
Statue of Unity unveiled
Sardar Vallabhai Patel's statue was unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Gujarat. It's 182m tall and is the world's tallest. About Rs. 3000 Cr went into making it. Many have said that the money could have been productively spent on education and health. There was a controversy over a plaque installed near the venue. The concerned officials have said that the statue with the wrong transliteration of English into Tamil will be duly replaced.
Sops to small entrepreneurs:
Narendra Modi announced sops to the micro and small-scale sector. "Access to credit is a major challenge for the MSME sector. In order to mitigate this challenge, delighted to share that through a portal, a loan upto Rs. 1 crore would be available in 59 minutes…yes, 59 minutes!" Modi said at a meet. GST-registered MSMEs will also get interest-related benefits. MSMEs committing minor offences will be let off. This will end the Inspector Raj.
'2.0' Trailer dazzles fans
The Trailer for '2.0' was out. It revealed the premise but concealed some twists in the movie. Shankar has the able assistance of his vastly talented technical team and action choreographers. Rajinikanth said that the film will collect double its budget of Rs. 550 Cr. What more can a fan ask for?
RRR announcement comes
The huge wait was over. Rajamouli's upcoming movie was finally got a launch date after weeks and weeks of delay. Starring NTR and Ram Charan, this massive multi-starrer will be launched on November 11 at 11 am.
'Sarkar' controversy concludes
The controversy that raged over the story of 'Sarkar' finally concluded when Sun Pictures struck a truce with petitioner Varun Rajendran. AR Murugadoss appreciated Varun for imagining a story around manipulation of voter lists years before him. The Vijay starrer will release on November 6 in Tamil and Telugu.
