A survey by the name of Mood of the Nation (MOTN) opinion poll conducted by Karvy for India Today has thrown up interesting results. If the findings of the poll are to be believed, the Narendra Modi-led NDA is indefatigable, while the Congress-led UPA continues to be unpopular in the country.
As per the poll, if elections were held today, the BJP and its allies will win 321 seats with a whopping 43% vote-share. This is a climbdown from 2019 because Shiv Sena and Akali Dal are not included in the NDA. On the other hand, the UPA will win just about 93 seats with a vote-share of 27%.
As many as 38% of those surveyed said that they will prefer Modi as PM once again. About 10% said their preference is Yogi Adityanath for PM, while 8% said it's Amit Shah who is the preferred candidate. It's only after the three BJP leaders that Rahul Gandhi comes. He is preferred by 7%.
As for the handling of the pandemic by the Prime Minister, 23% of those surveyed said that it is outstanding, while 50% said that it is good. Only 7% said it is poor and 2% found it is very poor.
Disclosing the numbers, Karvy said that 12,232 interviews were conducted across India for the purpose of the survey.
