The number of people who have received vaccination today (June 21) is likely to go beyond 5 million or even 5.5 million by the end of the day. At the time of writing this piece, more than 4.7 million people received vaccination across the country as per the CoWin Dashboard.

Madhya Pradesh is likely to contribute one million doses to the total. A huge drive was called in the State. This is reminiscent of how Andhra Pradesh performed on Sunday (June 20), with as many as 13.59 lakh people receiving the vaccination. AP's stellar one-day performance is being repeated by MP.

Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Haryana are posting superb numbers, with the first two of these likely to cross the 6-lakh mark each.

In the month of April, 4.3 million vaccinations were done on a single day. Till yesterday, this was the highest figure. After today, June 21st will be the best record figure until broken.

Commentators are hoping that vaccination numbers will regularly touch 5 million per day from July 1 or so. In the best-case scenario, the August numbers will be phenomenal. There are estimates that 10 million doses per day will be done in August, which will complete 30 crores vaccination doses in the month.
