India to have world's largest cricket stadium

In Gujarat's Ahmedabad, the Modi government is constructing the world's largest cricket stadium. It is going to have a seating capacity of over 1 lakh, said Gujarat Cricket Association vice-president Parimal Nathwani in a statement. "Once completed, the stadium will be a symbol of pride for the nation," Nathwani commented recently.
It will be spread across 63 acres of land at a cost of Rs 700 Cr. L&T is executing the project. Three practice grounds and an indoor cricket academy will be part of the prestigious stadium. Just the parking area will be able to house 3,000 cars and as many as10,000 two-wheelers.
Once completed, the stadium will be larger than the Melbourne cricket stadium, which is the largest in the world at present.
