Yesterday, the Indian government made a shocking announcement, banning 59 most used Chinese apps which were considered to be misusing the data of Indian users, and this move had come amidst the border tensions between India and China.
While many youngsters who had been frequent users of Tik Tok are shocked by this move from the Indian government, Tik tok company has been equally shocked as well. Now, the company's India head Nikhil Gandhi has issued an official statement.
Nikhil Gandhi's statement reads "The government of India has issued an interim order for the blocking of 59 apps, including Tik Tok and we are in the process of complying with it. We have been invited to meet with concerned government stakeholders for an opportunity to respond and submit clarifications. Tik Tok continues to comply with all data privacy and security requirements under Indian law and has not shared any information of our users in India with any government, including the Chinese government. Further if we are requested in the future we will not do so."
