Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has been sentenced to five years in jail for killing blackbucks way back in 1998 while he was in Rajasthan for a film shoot. The sentence was given by a Jodhpur court, which described him as a "habitual offender".
The 52-year-old Bollywodian is the only one to be sentenced, while Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam have been acquitted on benefit of doubt.
"Salman Khan found guilty in the #BlackBuckPoachingCase. Finally, some justice for that blackbuck's great-great-grandchildren," sarcastically said Ramesh Srivats, an entrepreneur.
Film critic Sumit Kadel feels otherwise, "Salman Khan had to visit Jodhpur for 20 years on regular basis for case hearings, He has suffered enough. Though Law is equal for all, but I feel Salman doesn’t deserve to go in Jail. Hope upper court will dismiss the lower court verdict."
