India began their second day of the final test against Australia at 303/4, with Pujara and Vihari on the crease, and soon, Lyon struck to dismiss Vihari 42(96). Entered Rishabh Pant who joined the classy Pujara and the batsmen confidently built a partnership, as Pujara was rock solid on one end, and Rishabh Pant was playing a rapid knock at the other end.
Pujara played a composed knock, before being removed by Lyon after a stunning 193(373). Rishabh Pant, however, was blasting away runs at the other end despite Pujara's departure, in the company of Ravindra Jadeja as he scored his second test century of just 137 balls. Both the batsmen further frustrated the Aussie bowlers who were clueless, smashed all over the park.
While Pant scored a blitzkrieg unbeaten 159(189)*, Lyon dismissed Jadeja for 81(114) followed by India declaring at 622/7. Lyon had picked 4/178, and was the best bowler for Aussies in an otherwise bad day for bowlers.
Australian openers Khawaja 5(29)* and Harris 19(29)* were on the crease, as the team ended at 24/0 at stumps, trailing by 598 runs.
