India's youngest Mayor Arya Rajendran gets engaged to MLA Sachin Dev

On Sunday, the country’s youngest Mayor, Arya Rajendran got engaged to Kerala’s youngest legislator, Sachin Dev. The simple engagement ceremony was held at the state headquarters of the ruling CPM, AKG Centre. The couple exchanged rings in the presence of senior leaders of the CPI-M and close friends and relatives.
The couple had got to know each other while working together in Balasangham, the student wing of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). Both of them were active in 'Balasangam’ and SFI earlier. Currently Sachin Dev is a member of the CPM Kozhikode district committee and the state secretary of SFI.
Meanwhile, Arya is the Chala area committee member of the CPI-M and state committee member of SFI. Arya Rajendran had taken charge as mayor at the age of 21. She hit the headlines by becoming the youngest mayor in India. It was only last month the couple decided to get hitched. According to reports, the couple will tie the knot next month.
