India logs more than 1.84 lakh cases, more than 1000 deaths

In a huge upset, India logged 1,84,372 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the latest health bulletin says. Maharashtra alone accounts for more than 60,000 cases.
There were 82,339 discharges in the same period, while as many as 1,027 deaths happened. For the first time since November 2020 or so, this is the first time these many have died.
There are many as 13,65,704 active cases in India, with 1,72,085 dying from Covid-19.
The vaccination drive, meanwhile, has been going fairly well. So far, 11,11,79,578 individuals have received at least one jab.
Meanwhile, the ICMR said that as many as 26,06,18,866 samples have been tested up to April 13.
In another news, former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has tested positive for coronavirus. He has isolated at home.
