India's first helicopter taxi service kick-starts!

For the first time, Bengaluru’s helicopter taxi service kick-started from Monday successfully much to the excitement of the locals. The helicopter taxi will fly passeengers from the Kempegowda International Airport to Electronic City.
In addition to the pilot, the helicopter will be able to accomodate six persons. Even though the service is offered at a cost of Rs.3,500 exclusive of GST, the service is touted to reduce the travel time from 2 hours (if by road) to about 15 minutes only.
The service has been introduced by Thumby Aviation which operates two Bell 407 helicopters for the same dedicatedly. The helicopter taxi service will be available in peak hours from 6.30 am to 9.30 am and 3.00pm to 6.15 pm.
