Assocham has released the results of a study according to which demand for yoga instructors is at an all-time high, but the country falls short of the 5 lakh teachers required by a steep 3 lakhs. With the International Yoga Day just around the corner, there is a sharp rise in the popularity of yoga as a form of fitness; celebrity endorsements only add to the popularity.

The study noted that teaching yoga has become a “lucrative profession” and that trained instructors could “charge any rate for private classes” proportionate to their experience. There are many options to choose from for those who wish to incorporate yoga into their lives or those who wish to become trainers; prices vary accordingly.
