So far, Shankar's 2.0 has been touted as India's most expensive film ever. Being made at a mind-blowing cost of Rs. 350 cr, the Rajinikanth-Akshya Kumar starrer, everybody thought, won't have a competition in terms of the budget for a long time to come.
But here is a film, once again from Kollywood, out to surpass the budget of 2.0. The film will be produced by Sri Thenandal Films as their 100th film. It's another S who will direct this historical fantasy. He is Sundar C of the recent 'Chandrakala' ('Aranmanai' in Tamil) fame. They have marked a budget in excess of Rs. 350 cr for this one, making it the costliest production ever in Indian cinema.
So, who is the hero? It's not Suriya as was rumoured till recently. The actor has has officially denied that and his next film has been confirmed to be directed by Kabali fame Pa Ranjith. Now news is surfacing that it is indeed the Illayathalapathy Vijay who is the hero of the film and the team are keeping it under wraps. If this turns out to be true we can expect the most exhilarating treat from the Vijay-Sundar C combo which will come together for the first time.
Let's see if this film turns out to be another 'Baahubali'.
