During the first Presidential debate with his Democrat rival Joe Biden, Donald Trump has made an unflattering reference to India, accusing the country of concealing the actual COVID-19 numbers. He clubbed India with China and Russia in this regard. This came after Biden tried to play up Trump's failure with regards to containing coronavirus in the US.
“We don’t know how many people died of the virus in China, Russia, India for the reason they do not give straight answers," the President of America said, adding that the three countries don’t give real numbers.
Trump didn't mind to club India with China and Russia in the context of climate change. This is even more odder than the other remark.
Commenting on Trump's shocking comments, MIT Professor Vipin Narang said, "Trump has nothing but disdain for India when push comes to shove, gratuitously grouping it with China and Russia Covid death hiders, and calling it one of the world’s worst polluters."
