ഏകദിന പരന്പരയിലെ രണ്ടാം മത്സരത്തിൽ ടോസ് നേടിയ ഇന്ത്യ ശ്രീലങ്കയെ ബാറ്റിംഗിനയച്ചു. ആദ്യ മത്സരത്തിൽ ജയിച്ച ഇന്ത്യ പരന്പരയിൽ മുന്നിലാണ്. ആദ്യ മത്സരത്തിനിറക്കിയ ടീമിനെ ഇന്ത്യ നിലനിർത്തി. ടെസ്റ്റ് പരന്പരയിലും ആദ്യ ഏകദിനത്തിലും തോറ്റ ലങ്ക കടുത്ത സമ്മർദ്ദത്തിലാണ്.

ബാറ്റിംഗ് തുടങ്ങിയ ലങ്ക ഒടുവിൽ വിവരം ലഭിക്കുന്പോൾ ആറ് ഓവറിൽ വിക്കറ്റ് നഷ്ടപ്പെടാതെ 36 റണ്‍സ് നേടിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഓപ്പണർമാരായ ഡിക്‌വെല്ല (27), ഗുണതിലക (9) എന്നിവരാണ് ക്രീസിൽ.
