Yesterday morning everyone woke up to a shock after learning that actor Vijay's residence and office in Chennai are being raided by Income Tax Department officials.

Raids started simultanouesly in as many as 32 places across Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Hyderabad and the list of film industry celebrities coming under the IT scanner yesterday included Nayanthara, Samantha, 'Puli' film producers PT Selvakumar, Shibu Thameens, Producer Kalaipuli S,Thanu and Madurai based financies Anbucheziyan.

The IT raids on Vijay and Puli producers were conducted based on a tip off about the unaccounted money being pumped into the production and distribution of the film Puli while the celebrities not connected to the film were conducted on allegations of tax evasion or failure to file IT returns.

Now sources say that the IT sleuths have not yet completed their checks and the raid in Vijay's residence at Neelangarai and office in Saligramam will be taking place today also.
