Imagine not wearing a face mask during the pandemic. A prominent country has announced that there would be no mandatory wearing of face masks from next week. It's the United Kingdom, whose Prime Minister is happy that the new wave of the pandemic, caused by the rapid spread of Omicron, has peaked. Once a peak happens, the ebbing has to follow invariably.
Importantly, children studying in secondary schools needn't mandatory wear face masks. That said, the public are advised to wear a mask in closed environs.
Employers who have been mandated to implement Work From Home in their organizations can also discuss with their employees if they would want to work from office.
The new rules have been declared keeping in view the scientific advices that the government has received. Booster shots of vaccines have been administered in the UK.
If the de-masking mission becomes a success, many more countries are expected to implement it later this year. It is going to depend on how fast the pandemic becomes endemic.
