In a career spanning two decades, Akshay has played a vareity of roles. However, despite working in close to 100 odd films, never once has he played someone from a time zone different from the current times. Neither going futuristic, nor sneaking into the past, Akshay has always revelled in the present.

However, 'Action Replayy' is different as it has turned out to be the first ever film where Akshay would be seen as a young man from the 70s.

"Yes, this is the first time ever that Akshay would be going retro for the film", says Vipul Shah, the maker of 'Action Replayy', who didn't require much convincing to do before roping in the actor, "There was a particular look that I wanted to give to Akshay and the film in general. It seemed tough. However, today when I see the finished copy of the film, I feel proud that the look has turned out so well."

Well, with Shah Rukh Khan and Salman already stepping into the past in reincarnation dramas 'Om Shanti Om' and 'Karan Arjun' and Ajay Devgn/Emraan Hashmi too going retro in 'Once Time A Time In Mumbaai', it would be fun to see what does Akshay bring on table with his own retro story in 'Action Replayy'.
