September is going to be a busy month full of entertainers. From straight to dubbed releases, from commercial movies to experimental outings, it's a versatile season.
Sep 7th Releases:
'C/o Kancharapalem': A village drama directed by Maha Venkatesh, this one has no star cast but this is one film everybody from Rajamouli to Nani and others have endorsed. A love story with a heart-warming twist, the film is backed by Suresh Productions.
'Manu':
'Manu', a crowd-funded film featuring Goutham and Chandini Chowdary in leading roles, has been written and directed by Phanindra Narsetti. Its trailer is a bundle of questions and mysteries. A key, which is seen at the beginning and end of the trailer, is metaphorical perhaps. The story involves mainly three characters, the third one played by John Kottoly, a bearded actor. This one is backed by Nirvana Cinemas.
'Ee Maya Peremito':
Rahul Vijay (senior fight master Vijay's son) debuts with this film. Directed by Ramu Koppula, a Sukumar protege, it has been produced by VS Creations. The film is set in Vizag. Kavya Thapar is the heroine.
'Premaku Raincheck':
Entrepreneur-turned-director Akella Peri Srinivas is coming up with an emotional roller-coaster ride of a love story. It's presented by Sharrath Marar of 'Sardaar Gabbar Singh' and 'Katamarayudu' fame. Abhilash Vadada, Priya Vadlamani, and Monica Tavanam are the leading actors.
'Silly Fellows' (Tentative):
This comedy stars Allari Naresh, Sunil and Chitra Shukla. The former two are friends, the latter is Naresh's muse. Jayaprakash Reddy has a key role. Directed by Bheemaneni Srinivasa Rao.
Sep 13th Releases:
'Shailaja Reddy Alludu':
The family-comedy stars Naga Chaitanya, Anu Emmanuel and Ramya Krishna in main roles. Directed by Maruthi, this one is expected to take big openings.
'U Turn':
Directed by Pawan Kumar, this mystery thriller has Samantha Akkineni as a journalist. Aadhi Pinisetty is a cop. Rahul Ravindran and Bhumika Chawla have key roles.
'Nannu Dochukunduvate':
Directed by RS Naidu, the film stars Sudheer Babu and Nabha Natesh in lead roles. It locks horns with two noteworthy releases that are out to compete with it on the same date!
Sep 21st Releases:
'ShubhalekhaLu'
Starring Sreenivasa Sayee, Priya Vadlamani and Diksha Sharma Raina, this rom-com has been directed by Sharrath Narwade. Music is by KM Radha Krishnan. The film mirrors the thinking of free-thinking, Westernized and unbound youngsters of the 21st century.
'Taramani':
Starring Andrea Jeremiah, Anjali and Vasanth Ravi, 'Taramani' is a triangular love story dubbed from Tamil. "Both contemporary and thrilling, the film's subject mirrors the thinking of today's youngsters. We are hopeful that it will be a bigger hit in Telugu than Tamil," the makers have said.
Sep 27th Release:
'DevaDas':
Directed by Sriram Adittya, the film has Nagarjuna, Nani, Rashmika Mandanna and Aakanksha Singh in lead roles. Mani Sharma is the music director. Produced by C Ashwini Dutt, the film is mainly a comedy.
Sep 28th Release:
'Nawab':
Directed by Mani Ratnam, this film stars Aravind Swamy, Arun Vijay, and Simbu as brothers. Vijay Sethupathy plays a cop. Jyothika, Aditi Rao Hydari, Aishwarya Rajesh and Jayasudha also feature in important roles.
There is intrigue, there is romance, and, above all, there could be an internecine family feud. Music is by AR Rahman.
