BIG update on Mohanlal-Prithviraj's Bro Daddy!

It was a few weeks ago Mollywood actor and filmmaker Prithviraj Sukumaran announced his second directorial 'Bro Daddy' that will have Mohanlal and Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead roles. While the audience has pinned high hopes on the superhit combination, here's an update on the upcoming project. A day ago, the actor's wife and film producer Supriya took to this social media handle to announce the movie will start rolling soon. Sharing a picture of Prithviraj and Mohanlal engaged in a serious discussion, Supriya wrote, BroDaddy!#RollingSoon#Director#Actor.
Earlier there were rumors that Mohanlal would first finish the Jeethu Joseph movie 12th Man and then start working on the Prithviraj directorial. But, going by Supriya's latest post it looks like, the shoot of Bro Daddy is being planned soon. Reportedly, the movie will be shot almost completely in Hyderabad. An official update is awaited!
Talking about Bro Daddy in an interview, Prithvi had earlier said that he was impressed with the writers' script and found it hilarious. After narrating the idea to Mohanlal over a zoom call, the superstar also liked it and gave a green signal for the project. I was supposed to come with my next directorial long back, which was supposed to be a sequel to 'Lucifer'. It was a much bigger film. If things would have been as we wished, then it would have been shot this year, but due to obvious reasons, we couldn't start. To me, it seems we are badly missing a happy film in Malayalam cinema over the past one and half years. All of the content we see in Kerala is dark. It's either a murder mystery or a dark satire or an investigative thriller. I thought we were all badly missing a happy film, which is when these two writers (Sreejith N and Bibin Maliekal) came and narrated the script to me. I found it to be interesting, hilarious, and more than anything I found it to be a really enjoyable, light watch. I casually narrated the idea to Mr. Mohanlal over a zoom call and he said that we are doing this and the project took off, Prithviraj said.
While Prithviraj is basking in the success of his latest OTT release 'Cold Case', Mohanlal has Marakkar: Arabikkadalinte Simham and Aarattu, ready for release.
