Thalapathy Vijay's 61st film 'Mersal' will be the next mega biggie in Kollywood and the film is scheduled to hit the screens in the month of October for the Diwali festival. As we had reported earlier the pre-release business of this Atlee directorial has started well in advance and the rights to release the film in Chennai has been acquired by Abirami Ramanathan.

Now Hema Rukmani, the CEO of Thenandal Studios banner which produces the film has announced that the USA distribution rights have been acquired by Atmus Entertainment and USA Tamil LLC.

The negotiations for distribution rights for other locations within and outside India are underway.

'Mersal' is the 100th project of Thenandal banner. A.R.Rahman has provided the music score wile Baahubali fame Vijayendra Prasad has written the script along with Atlee. The film stars Samantha, Kajal Aggarwal and Nithya Menon as female leads while Vijay is touted to play triple roles in the film.
