It was thought that there is no second to Illeana D' Cruz when Devadasu and Pokiri catapulted her to the starry orbit in a jiffy. Unfortunately since then, hits in the career of one of the most admired damsels of Tollywood have been few and far between.

Rakhi, Munna and Aata, all very much hyped did no great good to her image. Her career has been peppered with films she should have never done - like Khatarnak and Bhale Dongalu. If there was any damage that was left to be done, it was done by Recchipo, Saleem and Shakti. Nenu Naa Rakshasi were the last straw that broke the camel's back.

The only bright spots were Jalsa and Kick. They proved her mettle as an actress.

Changing her tacks, Illeana decided to juggle with Tollywood, Kollywoodl and Bollywood to give a boost to her sagging career. As the result, she signed on Trivikram Srinivas' film in Telugu, Nanban (directed by Shankar) in Tamil, and Barfee and Khiladi 786 in Hindi.

Hope Illeana strikes gold in all the three languages in 2012.
