A film by a debutant filmmaker has made music maestro Illayaraja to take the avatar of a distributor. The director in question is Rathnakumar and the movie we are talking about is ‘Senkathu Boomiyile’.

Says Rathnakumar, who is known for penning the script for films such as ‘Kizhakku Seemaiyile’ and ‘Karuthamma’, “I approached Raja sir to compose music for ‘Senkathu Boomiyile’. His coming forward to take over the film is a pleasant surprise.”

Illayaraja while composing the background score for the movie was so impressed watching the visuals that he wanted Rathnakumar to give him the rights to distribute the film.

“How can I say no when it is Raja sir. It is a God-sent gift,” Rathnakumar says. ‘Senkathu Boomiyile’, like Rathnakumar's earlier ventures, will explore the life and human relations in rural Tamil Nadu.
