Bollywood actress Ileana D'Cruz, who is famous in Kollywood for playing the lead role in Vijay's Nanban, recently opened up about being bullied and body shamed since she was 13 and how certain online trolls still affect her, in a recent interview with an entertainment portal.
Claiming that she gets irritated when she sees warped images of herself, where certain body parts of her are enhanced in order to make them look bigger than they actually are, Ileana reportedly stated, "I have dealt with bullying since I was 13-14. That's a vulnerable and sensitive age because you're just starting to talk to boys. I have been harassed by my body type so much that I think I have heard it all. I just didn't like it because I was looking at myself from that person's perspective. People would be like, 'This isn't normal', why do you have a body like that?' I have reached that point where I'm happy. It's entertaining and funny."
While she was speaking at the 21st World Congress of Mental Health in New Delhi, Ileana revealed that she had Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD). She added that talking to a therapist about the condition and her low self-esteem helped her fight the mental trauma.
