Last evening music lovers were elated when Isaipuyal A.R. Rahman shared an amazing photograph of Isaigniani Ilayaraja visiting his Firdaus Studio in Dubai. He wrote "Such a pleasure welcoming the Maestro @ilaiyaraaja to our Firdaus Studio... Hope he composes something amazing for our @FirdausOrch to play in the future!"

Ilayaraja has responded today by replying to the Tweet "request accepted.. will start composing soon. ". This is just what the music world needed a collaboration between the two greatest composers of this era who have done Tamils and the country proud.

It is worth recalling that the musical geniuses go back a long time with Ilayaraja working with Rahman's father Sekhar during his formative years. Similarly Rahman as a youngster served as the keyboardist for Ilayaraja in many films. They were projected as fierce rivals by the media but they themselves have harbored mutual respect and have always maintained a healthy relationship.
