Thousands of Isaigniani Ilayaraja's timeless tunes were composed in the Prasad Studios premises for the past four decades but for the past few months there is a dispute as the management has been trying to vacate him. The legendary composer even lodged a complaint with the Virugambakkam police and a team headed by Bharathiraja and Seeman tried to mediate but they were not allowed inside the premises and there was commotion outside the gate last week.
The studio management had stated that they did not get any rent for the use of the buildings but from Ilayaraja's side, it has been countered that the studio earned lakhs of rupees over the years by charging producers by the hour for the work done by him.
Ilayaraja had approached the Madras High Court to get a stay on the vacate notice given by Prasad Studios and the judge today has ordered that the two parties meet and come to an amicable solution on the 9th of December. It remains to be seen if the studio management would continue to allow the maestro to continue in his lucky place or he would be forced to move out.
