Ilayathalapathy Vijay is generally known to be a man of a few words. But he is highly capable of giving a highly meaningful, powerful and inspiring speech. This fact came out in open yet again in the audio launch of his next grand flick Theri`. The much anticipated speech of the young superstar that lasted for seven minutes and 35 seconds was filled with fun, jibe, metaphors, some inspiring lines to his lakhs and lakhs of fans out there (including a short story) and some catchy introduction about Theri` and the character he has played in the film. Here we bring you what the star spoke at the event amid frequent cheers, claps and whistles.

“Generally music directors are the heroes of an audio launch function. Here the music director himself is the hero. He is that hero of the all Virign Pasanga`, Mr.G.V.Prakash. Till yesterday we heard the Theri` songs in his studio. Today everyone is going to listen to them. Best wishes for you G.V.

Next is another important hero. We can call him as the hero of directors. Mahendran sir. Avar peyarai sonnale Mullum Malarum. He has given films like Udhirippookkal` that can be termed as the film that can be called as makkal manadhilirundhu udhiraadha pookkal. My desire to act in his film could not happen. But he acted in my film and has fulfilled that desire. Thank you so much sir.

There are two heroines in the film One is Selfie Pulla another one is Kulfi Pulla`. Both Samantha and Amy Jackson have equal importance in the film.

Prabhu sir, Radhika Madam, Motta Rajendhran, Meena`s daughter Nainika who has acted so cutely as my daughter in the film, Cameraman Geroge.C.Willaims, (Editor) Ruben, Art Director Muthruaj, (Stunt Master) Dhilip Subbarayan, Dancemasters, Assistant directors, camera assistants, lyric writers … I convey my thanks to all these people.

We would have watched in TV channels like Discovery. A group of deers will run berserk. A tiger will target a particular deer, isolate it, chase it and finally hunt it. If the name of the deer is Victory, the name of the Tiger is Kalaipuli (Thanu). Why I am telling this is because, he will not rest until he hunts that Deer`.

Atlee… After giving a beautiful love story Raja Rani` wanted to make an action film with me. His Veri (Passion) to do that is this Theri`. The height, Atlee has reached at this very young age is really amazing. Not only Atlee, many young directors give this amazement with the height they have reached and they make us feel proud. I use this opportunity to congratulate all of them. Like that all of you, I mean each of my fans should reach great heights in your lives. That is my wish. Don't chase after goals and standards as set by others. Your achievements must set the standard for others to chase and reach. Gone are the days when we needed 50 overs to score 150 runs in cricket matches we watch. Today they hit more than 300 runs, in just 20 overs, so easily. That is the change. Keep that in mind.

The reason I am telling this is because I want all of you to grow and you should not have conceit. I wish to cite a small example from something I have read. Former Chinese President Mao was walking on the road. A small boy was selling the portraits of leaders. All the portraits that the boy had displayed were his portraits. He was so proud about that. Hiding it inside, he called the boy and said Kid you may have so much admiration for me, but it is wrong to sell my portraits alone. Sell the portraits of other leaders also. The boy replied, the portraits of other leaders were sold long back. These are the ones that don`t have any takers.” So you should not have conceit at all. Shed that away and reach bigger heights in life.

It is your encouragement that I am getting right from the beginning of my career. You may think that why I am not speaking anything related to the film. Generally, I don`t like speaking highly about my films. That`s why I use these opportunities to share the small things I have in my mind, with you all. It is because of you all, who watch our films sitting in the dark (room), we have come to the limelight. It's my desire to see everyone of you, hog the limelight.

There may be a thousand reasons for failure. But thousand failures are the sole reason for a success. The police character in Theri` is a person who has this positive approach. If I have to define this character in one line, Police, generally like criminals. But one Policeman who even the accused persons will like, is the one in Theri`. Thank you All. “
