As soon as Sri Thenandal Films announced Vijay 61` aka Thalapathy 61` director Atlee and his team flew to the United States and toured the country to fix various locations for shooting the portions involving Vijay and Kajol Agarwal in the film.

However, now the team of Vijay 61` is shooting in Europe and this change in plans was due to the new Donald Trump administration, which has heavily raised shooting location charges and also is putting restrictions on other country people. Anyways, fans are in for a visual treat as the sprawling European locales are as much pleasing to the eyes and even more than the one in the States. The A.R. Rahman musical has an ensemble cast comprising of Vijay, Samantha, Nithya Menen, Kajal Agarwal, Vadivelu, Kovai Sarala, Sathyaraj, S.J. Surya and Sathyan.
