It seems that no less than three directors have set their stories or a part of them in the eighties.  The Suriya starrer ‘Thaana Serndha Kootam’ directed by Vignesh Sivan is completely set in the 1980s if unofficial sources are to be believed.

Similarly a portion of ‘Vijay 61’ directed by Atlee involving Vijay and Nithya Menen and some sequences of Simbu’s ‘Anbanavan Adangadhavan Asaradhavan’ are also set in the same period.  Well all three are likely to release one after the other and we can witness how differently each of these new age directors have handled the endearing 80s.
