In March, Ilayaraja had angered several Christians with his remarks about Jesus Christ 'never coming back to life after his crucifixion". Speaking at a Gooogle event, he said that there are "proofs as brought out by several YouTube videos" that there was no resurrection with respect to Jesus. He went on to add that Ramana Maharshi died at the age of 16 and was born again. It's the true resurrection, he opined.
Latest, a Christian organization named Indian Church Renewal has demanded that the music director must kneel down and apologize for his remarks. It has filed a police case against Ilayaraja.
The organization's chief, Gregory Ashok Arokiasamy, has found fault with the legendary music director. Arokiasamy commented on Facebook that Ilayaraja was a born Christian who converted to Hinduism.
