Court order on Ilayaraja-Prasad Studio case

Isaigniani Ilayaraja for close to four decades has been operating his music production studio at the Prasad Studios premises in Saligramam, Chennai. For the past several months there has been a dispute between him and the owners as they wanted him to vacate while the legend is keen to continue as its a lucky spot for him.

A few months back Ilayaraja lodged a complaint with the police that the studio management was causing hindrance to his day to day work and have also blocked his entry and caused damage to the musical instruments and equipment. The Madras High Court in December 2019 referred the case to a mediation center and the celebrated composer had sought a stay against his eviction.

The case came up for hearing today and the Court has ordered the mediation centre to close the dispute in two weeks time and submit the report.
