For decades, Musical Maestro Ilaiyaraaja had been known for recording songs in his studio in Prasad studio in Vadapalani. The space was given to Ilaiyaraaja by LV Prasad before 40 years, and Ilaiyaraaja had recorded some of the biggest hit songs here.
LV Prasad's son Ramesh Prasad too took pride in having Ilayaraja's recording studio in Prasad studio, but last year there were issues between the Prasad studio management, now headed by LV Prasad's grandson Sai Prasad. Kollywood came in support of Ilaiyaraaja, after Sai Prasad wanted Ilaiyaraaja to vacate the studio.
It was in such a situation that he had worked on several movies, Kamal 60 event and another event in Bangalore. Now, reports are making rounds that Ilaiyaraaja has bought MM preview theatre in Kodambakkam to turn it as a recording studio and that this studio will be named as Raja studio. Ilaiyaraaja's Raja Studio is expected to be opened in September and an official announcement is expected to arrive soon.
