Isaigniani Ilayaraja organized a get together of all the musicians and singers who have worked with him in the thousands of films he has composed for in all Indian languages. Speaking at the occasion the maestro lamented at the present state of film music.

Ilayaraja who is still going strong in his fortieth year as one of India's greatest film musicians stated that he missed the good old days when the singers and musicians performed together at recordings which has been robbed forever by digitalization. He was particularly harsh on present day music directors who according to him have rendered film music totally bald like a devotee who has returned from Tirupathi after tonsuring his head. He even went further on his comparison that they even have shaved off the eyebrows to leave the Indian music field in complete ruins.
