Ilaiyaraja’s musical tribute for Jayalalitha will bring tears

Tamil Nadu's most admired Chief Minister J.Jayalalitha's passing away has left the entire state and even other parts of the country in mourning state. The Tamil film industry has suffered a severe shock with her death as she was formerly a part of the film fraternity as the most successful heroine.

Though she distanced herself from films after entering politics the number of admirers for her kept growing in the film industry, a fact evident my a hundreds and hundreds of Tamil film celebrities from star actors and technicians to junior artists making a beeline to pay the last respects for her in the Rajaji Bhavan where here mortal remains were kept.

Isaignani Ilaiyaraja also made a personal visit to pay his homage for the iron lady politician. Now the maestro has gone the extra mile by making a tribute for her in the art form he is best at.

Yes, Ilaiyaraja has penned a heart-melting eulogy for Jayalalith, composed the music and also recorded the song with his voice.

Ilaiyaraja has written the song in such a way that it ends with the word 'Amma' which is the term used by her party cadre and every admirer as a token of gratitude for the affection she has been showering on Tamil people like a mother in the form of leader.

Here is the lyrics and audio link for the soulful tribute by Isaignani:
