On Friday, Music maestro Ilaiyaraja received the centenary award for the Indian Film Personality of the Year in the International Film Festival of India 2015. He received the award from the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Arun Jaitlee, amid roaring applause and standing ovation

After receiving the award, the legendary composer rendered the Telugu song 'Ragam Rasamiya Vedamai' without words much to the delight of the audience. .

Subtly expressing concern over the growing violence, Ilaiyaraja requested the Indian Government to make music learning, compulsory in the school curriculum as it would go a long way in preventing children getting drawn towards violence.

Hope the Government fulfills the request of the country's most revered music composer.
