Ilaiyaraaja Remembers Bhavatharini: Music of ‘Puyalil Oru Thoni’ Launched on Her Birth and Remembrance Day

Music composer Ilaiyaraaja emotionally recalled the days he spent with the late Bhavatharini before she passed away. The movie ‘Puyalil Oru Thoni,’ produced by Jaleel, stars newcomers Vishnu Prakash, Archana Singh, Ilavarasu, Radha Ravi, and Namo Narayanan. Directed by Easan, this film features music composed by Bhavatharini, marking her final work.

February 12 was observed as both Bhavatharini’s birthday and remembrance day. On this occasion, Ilaiyaraaja released the music of ‘Puyalil Oru Thoni.’ He also shared his memories of Bhavatharini and honored her by having his musical team perform some of the songs she had sung. The event was attended by noted personalities including Gangai Amaren, director Venkat Prabhu, music composer Karthik Raja, lyricist Snehan, producer T. Siva, and J.M. Basheer, who paid their respects.

Speaking at the event, Ilaiyaraaja remarked, “It is surprising that Bhavatharini’s birth and death anniversaries fall on the same day. This is rare and signifies that her soul has found peace. The producers requested that the music launch for ‘Puyalil Oru Thoni,’ her final composition, be held today. I can never forget the days I spent with her before she left this world.”
