IKK - Story in Two Lines

  • IndiaGlitz, [Tuesday,January 21 2014]

The two lines that impressed Udhayanidhi, Harris' Koothu song experience, Udhay's dance practice... there was a lot of interesting topics to discuss when 'Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal' team met the media. First to hold the mic was director SR Prabhakaran of 'Sundarapandian' fame, who was roped in by Udhay to work with Red Giant Movies, and eventually, IKK happened. When Udhay first contacted me, I had given him just two lines.

And those were enough for him to firm up the deal. Later, it was these two lines which I developed into a full length story. I am glad to have had this association, if not for which, I wouldn't have had the opportunity work with bug names such as Harris Jeyaraj on music and Balasubramaniem on cinematography said Prabhakaran, who also assures that 'Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal' is a totally new concept. For people who are still hooked to the looks and trend of Udhay from 'Oru Kal Oru Kannadi', the actor-producer clarified that IKK is nothing like OKOK, and that the two are certainly different from one another.

Speaking on his experience, Udhay said I am happy that the film has come out really well. While in my acting debut in OKOK, we were not very keen about dance moves, we were quite particular about our moves in songs, and we have rehearsed each step rigorously. Thanks to Dinesh master for coming up with interesting moves. Standing proof of the film's good performance is the reception and applause the trailer and two songs - 'Mele Mele' and 'Saravedi' received. Further, there is an interesting twist to the film, as what we have in store is a Koothu song, and not a kuththu song.

Harris detailed it out, There are five songs in the album, and we while it was relatively easy for us complete the first four, it was the fifth that posed a real challenge. We were looking to make a song of the Themmangu type, and we believe we have landed the right notes in 'Pallakku Thevathaye'. This one is a koothu song.
