Starting a Career as a Mimicry artist, building his own talent as an actor to a veteran, carving the life to display a Character on screen makes him very apt to the archetype ‘Rags to Riches ‘. It doesn’t mean the wealth in a great deal but the real transformation of a common man from Aluva, Ernakulam district, Kerala to a fine actor with great perceptions and dimensions. Dileep on his exclusive interview for IG opened his views about acting, awards and Mayamohini 2012 directed by Jose Thomas. A well critically acclaimed role as Mayamohini has brought some happiness to the crew and it is very obvious in the face of Dileep as well.

He also disclosed his opinions about Awards and Recognition which he missed out most of the times due to some unknown reasons. On a surprise note, his bunch of performances with near to perfect range and practical sufferings he tends to experience while acting those roles was not noticed by National or State level Authorities most of the time.

Portraying the art of acting as a whole, Very few Actors like Kamalahaasan, Tom Hanks, Robin Williams on a world wide have the guts of taking challenging roles without considering the Commercial aspects. In this point of view, Dileep, though it will be meaningless when compared, is an Actor whose efforts must have been honoured for sure.

When asked about Award and Recognition, he said to IG Exclusive, “ Aetavum Velliyea Award Aahnu, naan Athilea Santhoshavaan.....” which means to the core truth that his expectation lies on the factor of People’s applause and enjoying but nothing about awards and appraisals. It is a no doubt fact that he is a man(actor) who deserves greater heights and milestones.
