BJP Telangana President Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Thursday said that traffic fines imposed on vehicle-owners over the years will be cleared by the GHMC if the BJP is voted to power. "GHMC will pay the fines imposed by the traffic police should the Mayoral post go to us. We will take measures to ensure 100% challans are paid by us," Sanjay Kumar said.
The poll promise has come in for criticism on social media. "This is going to encourage violations. Such promises are irresponsible and will militate against civic discipline if implemented. This is dangerous populism," a Twitter user wrote.
Sanjay Kumar also said that GHMC will increase the flood relief compensation from Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 if voted to power.
In a series of tweets, Sanjay Kumar lashed out at KCR and suggested that he has been ranting against Narendra Modi aimlessly. He highlighted Centre's decisions like the abrogation of Article 370, the abolition of Triple Talaq, the passing of the CAA to help persecuted minorities from Pakistan and Bangladesh as achievements of the BJP.
