"If I become the Chief Minister, then I will not be acting as CM. I will do my job with sincerity." These are Tamil superstar Vijay's words at the audio release function of 'Sarkar', held on Tuesday.
"I will work towards rooting out corruption in the state if I become the CM," Vijay added.
Commentators are of the view that these statements are proof that Vijay wants people to start preparing for his political debut. He is seen as the biggest matinee idol in Tamil Nadu, next only to Rajinikanth.
At the event, he promoted his up-and-coming movie by speaking in a political language. "We have already formed the government (punning 'Sakar') and are seeking an election," Vijay said, asking people to cast their votes (that is, make the film a hit).
Many are of the view that Vijay will announce his political entry sooner than later.
