The ‘5 Idiots’ debut direction of actor Master Anand is having strong shades of Hindi film ‘Darwaza Bandh Karo’ not because the similar Kannada title ‘Machcha Bagluhako’ but because of the innocent acceptance of director Anand. When a question came from the media whether this film is a remake of Hindi film the director cum actor Anand quietly said the Hindi version is one hour and forty five minutes duration while Kannada film ‘5 Idiots’ is half an hour more in duration.

Keeping aside whether it is a straight subject or remake one, what is notable is the strength and ability of actor Anand. At a young age (just after marriage) he has taken up direction of a Kannada film. He was a child actor 15 years ago now graduated in thoughts. “There is no short cut way for success. The hard work only gives results, is the crux of this hilarious film ‘5 Idiots’”, said Anand.

Why an English title to a Kannada cinema was debated for a long time at the media briefing. It is last minute decision taken by actor Vasu (the one with producer Jayasri Devi camp) who got the title approved from KFCC. Why the title registering committee becomes strict, came up from senior actor Karibasavaiah. The admirations to the language should come from the makers first, was the reply that came from the media.

However the film has completed 10 days of shoot in a private house near Sunkada Katte in Bangalore. Anand, Vasu, Naveen Krishna, Petrol Prasanna and Namratha Hegde are the five idiots who kidnap a rich man’s daughter the heroine of the film Harshika Poonacha for a ransom of Rs.4 crores. They keep the kidnapped girl in the house of a stranger that leads to various complications.

”The experience of television serial ‘SSLC Naan Maklu’ 390 episodes has come to my help”, says actor cum director Anand.

Producer Lokesh Murthy of ‘Crime Spota’ tabloid is one of the producers of the film. He has the support of Magadi Krishnamurthy and Mohan in making this film.

Actress Harshika Poonacha acts in the first comedy film in her career. “I was in to serious kind of roles so far in my career. The whole film is thoroughly enjoyable”, said Harshika.
