IDI in villain menace

IDI directed by Sajid Yahiya has hit the theatres. Recently it was in the headlines for another reason also, the film got embroiled in unexpected woes due to a report that the main villain had been nabbed in drug trafficking case by police. It was reported by a section of the media that Bava Habeeb, the main villain is in police custody for his role in drug trafficking. The crew was bemused as the shadow of doubt cast upon it when the release date was near. The director Sajid Yahiya has rubbished the allegations. He made it clear that the said person is not the main villain. He just showed his face in one scene where he was depicted as falling down after being hit by a bullet.
The director is quite unnerved by these reports and doubts whether it will adversely affect its box office collection. In this film, Jayasury plays the title role - Inspector Dawood Ibrahim; it is a fast paced comic thriller. The film is scripted by the director Sajid Yahiya and his younger brother Arouz Irfan. Jayasurya reportedly, beefed up his body to essay the role. His efforts and dedications were highly praised by the director. He even contributed a lot while writing the script. This role first came to Asif Ali, but due to unknown reasons he was dropped from the project. The other artists in the film include Joju George, Saiju Kurup, Sunil Sugatha, Shivada, Molly Kannamally etc. The heroine of the film is Shivadi Nair who paired with Jayasury in the film Su Su Vathmeekam which was a super hit.
