Iddarammayilatho Music Review

Whenever it is an Allu Arjun film, it is time for the fans of Devi Sri Prasad to expect nothing less than a bonanza.  And the ace musician does deliver a mini bonanza, it is not as good as their last outing together (Julayi) but comes with a promise.

The lyricists do a fine job in at least three songs, with Bhaskarabhatla's work standing out for its quality.  The choice of singers is apt.

Lyricist: Ramajogayya Sastry

Tuned to suit the mega dancer, Allu Arjun, the song is peppy and can get on your ears if you listen more than once.  Ramajogayya Sastry's lyrics are peppered with use of English words.  The rendition made by Apache Indian and Sharmila give a fresh ring to this DSP number.

Lyricist: Devi Sri Prasad

DSP returns with his pen yet again after entertaining with a romance number for last year's Gabbar Singh.  If his lyrics are irreverent in so far as they refer to various musical genres and how the hero would use them, the music is a mix of the styles of a Keeravani and a Bobo Sasi.  Mano's vocals add a done-that flavour to it.

Lyricists: Viswa, David Simon

True to the title, the song entertains only when the violin is tuned by DSP.  The lyrics by Vishwa are rehashed from already-heard lines. Anitha's vocals, together with David Simon, give it a youthfulness that doesn't reflect in the other aspects.

Lyricist: Bhaskara Bhatla Ravi Kumar

The song begins with a Ganapathi mantra and even raises a pitch for patriotism.  Bhaskarabhatla's lyrics are written for the hero and his image.  DSP doesn't show inventiveness to come up with a throbbing beat.

It serves as a timely item number in a film when heroism has to be elevated.  Bhaskarabhatla's lyrics have an element of mass appeal. Sagar and Geetha Madhuri's vocals add zing.  DSP does a fine job.

The remix comes with a DSP topping that is difficult to resist.  It is as good as the original song that is the first in the album.  Allu Arjun's steps are awaited, of course.
