"With a very heavy heart, we are sad to report today the untimely demise of Padmashri Pankaj Udhas on February 26, 2024, due to prolonged illness," Nayab wrote in an Instagram post. His last rites will be conducted on Tuesday. Pankaj Udhas has sung numerous albums and performed many concerts around the world, where his voice and touching lyrics won the hearts of millions of people.
Pankaj Udhas, too, received many laurels for his contribution to music; he was awarded the Padma Shri, one of the highest civilian awards in India, in 2006.
Playback singer Sonu Nigam also took to his official Instagram account to share a post mourning the late singer's untimely passing of the late singer. He posted a picture of Pankaj Udhas with the caption, "One of my strongest memories of childhood has left me today. Shri Pankaj Udhas Ji, I'll miss you forever.
