An Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer in Madhya Pradesh received a death threat from the mining mafia in the state, after she had impounded trucks loaded with sand.

The IAS officer, Sonia Meena, addressed a letter to Chief Secretary Basant Pratap Singh, asking for more security when she goes to Chhattarpur court to submit vital evidence.

She is currently Additional District Magistrate and Ziula Panchayat Chief Executive Officer in Umaria district. She had seized the sand trucks when she was Sub-Divisional Magistrate in Rajnagar of Chhattarpur district; the trucks allegedly belonged to Arjun Singh Bundela, the sand mafia boss who issued the death threat.
