A success met was held today by the makers of 'Yatra' to celebrate the audience's "thumping response" to the film. Speaking on the occasion, director Mahi V Raghav said that art and the affection of the people can't be quantified.
"I can't describe in words the kind of love that the audiences are showering on the film out of love for YSR garu. Had I had any clue that YSR garu commands this magnitude of reverence, I might not have dared to make the film. Some fans have told me that the film is like 'Pitrudevobhava' just as 'Matrudevobhava' was about mother's love. I am feeling very proud. I may get some tags after this film but I am not bothered," Mahi said.
Vijay Chilla, the film's producer, said, "All the three films we have made so far had novel stories. When Mahi told us about 'Yatra', we were a bit reluctant as we feared controversies. But when he narrated the scene where YSR speaks to a farmer who struggles to speak after a suicide attempt, we wanted to take the plunge. We are happy that many are reminded of Rajanna after watching 'Yatra'. People are loving Mammootty garu's character."
