Speaking at the audio launch of 'M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story', Rajamouli said that it felt emotional to be standing next to him. He then chanted Dhoni-Dhoni into the mike.

"I know you (the audience) are jealous that I just got a rare opportunity to share the dais with MS Dhoni. It is difficult to talk with him beside. When someone called me up to know if I will be able to make it to this event, I wondered why he was even asking the question. I would have given away Rs. 1 cr for this event", Rajamouli said.

He further said, "Dhoni is my inspiration like he is for millions of Indians. It's a privilege to be here. People of my generation started watching cricket religiously from mid-1980s. It were the likes of Gavaskar, Kapil Dev and Azahruddin who introduced us to the joys of cricket. Back then, we were scared to watch cricket as we would worry about whether India will win at all. After Dhoni became India's captain, we started watching cricket without fear. We started watching it with joy. Whether it was Wasim Akram or any on the other side, we were now not scared. Even new players started playing confidently. That's what Dhoni has done to Indian cricket."

Rajamouli said that there can be no greater Karmayogi than Dhoni. "The Bhagavad Gita exhorts us to concentrate only on the action, not on the result. When India lifted the World Cup in 2011, Dhoni put the cup in the hands of his teammates and stood aside. That's what a Karmayogi does. Even Sachin Tendulkar, the God of Cricket, couldn't hide emotions. But Dhoni was so nonchalant."

"I thank Neeraj Pandey for making a film that gives insights into Dhoni's life. I will watch this film FDFS obviously. As a director, I can say that Sushant Singh Rajput is not imitating Dhoni in the movie. He has gone into the into the skin of the character. One request to Dhoni. Please lead us into the next world cup", Rajamouli ended his speech amid huge applause.
