After the Election Commission stalled the release of 'Lakshmi's NTR' in Andhra Pradesh (the political drama was supposed to release today in the State), Ram Gopal Varma has said that he will be moving the court for justice.
The controversial director has quoted a provision from a letter written by the EC in a separate context. "This clause, read with the recent AP high court judgement, is why we had planned the release today. We are going to the court against the contradictory stand of the EC to stop our film after giving permission to release for reasons best known to it, and we all know the force behind responsible (sic)," RGV said.
The last-minute decision of the EC to put the release of the controversial film on hold has not gone down well with many. With a film like 'PM Narendra Modi' getting stalled, perhaps, the stalling of 'Lakshmi's NTR' at a time when the Model Code of Conduct is in force is not that shocking.
Point 8C in EC ‘s below letter combined with AP high court judgement is why we planned release today .we going to court against contradictory stand of EC now to stop film after giving permission to release for reasons best known to it and we all know the force behind responsible pic.twitter.com/TeI0XH3blT
