Have you heard of Sakshi Maharaj, the BJP MP from Uttar Pradesh? A saint, he is Unnao parliamentarian. The firebrand Hindutva leader is in the news for an embarrassing reason.
Speaking to voters in his constituency ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, Maharaj today said that he will curse the families of those who refuse to vote for him! "I am a monk. Scriptures say that a saint can take away the happiness of those families which don't give what he begs for," Maharaj thundered.
The disgusting comments have put him in a spot.
In another incident, Union Minister Maneka Gandhi is heard telling Muslims that she will not do anything for them if they don't vote for her. "I can win without your votes but vote for me if you want me to work for you," Gandhi has been quoted as saying by media reports.
