The trailer and music album of Madras' the second directorial venture of Pa. Ranjith was released yesterday. The film stars Karthi and Catherine Theresa in lead roles and touted as a film that will depict the life style of North Chennai with its real colors.
Speaking to the Indiaglitz correspondent, actor Karthi in the film, said he has unlearnt what he has learnt so far to learn new things in Madras'. The actor was seen with a thick mustache almost touching his side burns which is perhaps his looks for his next film Komban' that went to floors last week. Speaking about how he accepted Madras', the Paiyya' actor said “People started complaining that I have stopped acting in serious subjects. It is because I did not get such scripts. But when I read Ranjith's script it was so interestin,. He had written the Chennai life style very differently. Moreover the script included eight detailed characters that are detailed and complete. It is a rarity. I felt it will be a different film and was skeptical about my ability to carry the role. But I felt I should not miss a strong script which has made me fear and that made me accept the film”.
Karthi also had a few words to share about the shooting experience and outcome of Madras. “Shooting in live location for 60-100 days was a new experience. We lived with north Chennai people for these many days. When we watched the final edit, we felt happy for making a big film”.
Karthi's sense of satisfaction is sure to turn as the box office success of the film.
