I was misquoted: Lakshmi Rai

  • IndiaGlitz, [Thursday,October 11 2012]

Lakshmi Rai has refuted media reports which quoted her as saying that she would prefer doing films in her mothertounge Kannada and she would be satisfied if Karnataka audience alone would enjoy her performance.

How can I say so? As an actress, I treat audience from all the States equal and there is no preference in that. I have been misquoted, says the 'Kanchana' fame actress.

On her recent release 'Thaandavam', she says, I was initially reluctant to accept the offer. But director A L Vijay insisted that it would be good if I do the role. So I signed the project.

Lakshmi Rai is happy that 'Kanchana' is being converted into 3D and her co-star Raghavendra Larencce's Telugu directorial venture 'Rebel' has been declared a hit. He is a good friend and a nice human being, she says.
